Pouring a bowl of cereal, bandaging a hurt finger, drying a dripping puppy, wiping your daughter’s nose - these aren’t the most interesting moments of our lives. But they’re the moments that make up our lives. And, Whirlpool, the appliance maker known for machines that make these mundane daily tasks a little easier, brilliantly chose to highlight them as what they really are - daily demonstrations of love.
"These small acts of care we provide our families every day may seem insignificant and often feel like a chore. but at their core, every act of care we give helps the people we love become people who love - and that helps make our world a better place. It’s time we acknowledge the value of caring for the ones we love."
There is no more iconic American date night than “dinner and a movie,” a concept that Pizza Hut co-opted and translated for its Hong Kong audience in a recent campaign by Ogilvy & Mather Group Hong Kong. They’ve developed a pizza box that converts into a movie projector that uses the pizza-saver (that little white table sitting in the middle of your pie) as a lens, and a mobile phone app to supply a short film. Custom-designed pizza boxes downplay the Pizza Hut logo in favor of artistic representations of the four movie genres on offer: Romance, Action, Sci-Fi, and Horror. Company spokesman Doug Terfehr explained the idea in simple terms: “Pizza is a social food and movies are a social event. Perfect match.”
